This registration is for competitive rowers only.
Competitive rowers are those who train to compete in sprint and head races; commit to the training program, workout sessions and regattas. Crews and regatta entries will be determined by the coach(es) based on on-the-water performance, and erg test scores. Competitive rowing practice times are confirmed by the coach(es), but are generally scheduled twice daily Monday through Friday and on Saturday morning, April through November.
Competitive rowing age categories include: junior, senior and masters. All competitive rowers will be registered accordingly with Rowing Canada and RowOntario.
Competitive rowers are responsible for their own regatta entry fees, as well as travel or accommodation costs applicable. Rowers must compete in the ORC uniform.
Prior experience required: competitive, high school, university, junior development or recreational rowing required. Winter training recommended.
U23 and Senior rowers: The on-water practices will begin at 5:15am as of April 12th. There will be some flexibility for training during the university exam period. All competitive athletes should expect to be training full time by May 3rd. Athletes registering for the competitive program who are attending university in the U.S. should send an e-mail to the head coach with their expected return date.
